British Cinema Curation Project (In the ruins of the future)

In 2025, the UK faces rising inequality, housing crisis, climate anxiety, and the lingering trauma of a pandemic. With the release of 28 Years Later, dystopian British sci-fi is once again at the cultural forefront.

In this project, I proposed a curated film season based on British sci-fi films that deal with the concept of collapse in British society. This collapse could be political, moral, or biological. Through this film season, I tackle the challenges in the UK and celebrate British sci-fi filmmakers and their outstanding achievements.

This Project contains original curatorial work developed as part of my studies at the National Film and Television School. If you’re interested in viewing the full proposal, please email me at alilalfamstudio@gmail.com briefly introducing yourself and your reason for accessing it.
